Tribal Council

Recently retired, India's professional career has spanned 34 years in leadership and management in the Housekeeping/Facilities services to sectors of Health Care, Long Term, K-12, and Higher Education.

In this new phase of her life, she enjoys reading, sewing, putting puzzles together, baking and helping others in need and being one of the Elders who sits on Session at Grace Presbyterian. India and her husband enjoy traveling to the Caribbean often. She enjoys time with their son, four granddaughters and two great grandsons who she admittedly spoils rotten.

India is a direct descendant of one of the original Mattaponi families! It is her vision to continue to welcome all those who have been displaced back into the tribe, to see that the Mattaponi Tribe become a recognized nation of America’s first peoples and that our history, as well as the history of all

American Indians, is rewritten to right the wrongs done to us and how we helped America to grow into

becoming this country.
